Rudder pins are designed to break in the event of collision or hard knock on the rudder assembly in order to protect the transom. Therefore it’s a good idea to keep a spare handy at all times. It’s better to have a spare rudder pin and not need it than to need a spare rudder pin and not have it.

This particular rudder pin is compatible with the Hobie Lynx, each of the Hobie iTrek inflatable kayaks and is also used in the Passport XL Rudder Assembly
