This MirageDrive is an I-Series drive.

This MirageDrive is an I-Series drive, originally designed for Hobie’s inflatable kayak range.

The drive will fit all Hobie Kayak MirageDrive wells, but it does not include the location/alignment lugs found on later models.

The Hobie MirageDrive V2 makes for an excellent emergency drive in case you damage or break a drive while on a holiday kayaking adventure.

Integrates well with earlier model Hobie Mirage Kayaks, which require a slimline spine, vs the flared-out spine featured on some of the newer drives.

It can still be upgraded to ST-style fins (standard or turbo) and is compatible with GT (Glide Technology) componentry for replacement parts.

Hobie refined the original MirageDrive design to create the V2 MirageDrive, introducing several significant improvements. The V2 featured redesigned drums that reduced loading and enhanced performance.

It also offered a more secure fin mast mounting system with a threaded mechanism, improving durability and stability during use.

Furthermore, the V2 MirageDrive boasted significantly better chain life, along with various minor refinements to enhance the overall user experience.
