The Hobie Drift Chute is a large cone shaped "para"-chute deployed in the water to slow your drift in windy conditions.

The design is such that it stays just under the water fully deployed.

The Chute (aka Drogue, aka sea anchor) also includes a buoyancy pad so that it can be released quickly when fishing and later retrieved if needing to work the fish on the line for a few moments.

A counterweight down below means that the chute will take optimal shape immediately upon deployment.
